What do all these have in common? I've shot them on assignment for a variety of outdoor, nature, or travel publications.

Although a large portion of my business is providing stock photography, I frequently am hired to cover a specific topic or locale. Shooting on assignment is quite different than shooting for stock and occasionally requires me to dig deeper photographically than I might ordinarily do - always a good thing! But sometimes it can be a major challenge; More than once I've arrived at some requested locale where my first impression has been that there is absolutely nothing photogenic in sight. That's when the real fun begins! Here's an eclectic collection of images originally shot 'On Assignment'.
